Where the Dingo comes from
Dingoes are wild dogs that arrived in Australia thousands of years ago and live there as a native predator. They are not a domestic breed.
Personality and daily life
Wary, independent and intelligent. Dingoes are not suited to be pets, and it's illegal to keep them in some parts of Australia.
Dingoes are wild dogs and not typical pets. They are shown here as a reference, so adopt a rescue instead.
Exercise, grooming and health
Not applicable to pet ownership. If you love the look, consider a Kelpie or Cattle Dog from a rescue.
Is a Dingo right for you?
Wildlife lovers, not pet owners.
- Needs space, so not ideal for small apartments
- Best with older children, always supervised
- Can be stubborn, better for experienced owners
- Easy to groom
