Where the Cavoodle comes from

The Cavoodle is a crossbreed of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Miniature or Toy Poodle. It became popular in Australia from the 1990s as a small, friendly, low-shedding family dog, and is now one of the most registered and insured dogs in the country.

Personality and daily life

Gentle, social and eager to please. They tend to be good with children, other dogs and visitors, and can get anxious when left alone.

Cavoodles are people dogs that want to be close to the family all day. They do not like long hours alone.

Exercise, grooming and health

About 45 minutes of exercise a day. The coat varies from wavy to curly and needs brushing several times a week and clipping every few months. Because it is a cross, health depends on both parents: ask for heart and eye tests for the Cavalier and Poodle.
