Where the Bloodhound comes from

Bloodhounds trace back to medieval Europe, where monks bred them for tracking. They are famous for finding people across long distances, and their results are accepted in court in some countries.

Personality and daily life

Friendly, determined and gentle. Bloodhounds are affectionate but single-minded, and will follow their nose anywhere.

Bloodhounds have an incredible nose and a stubborn streak. They drool and need a very secure yard.

Exercise, grooming and health

Daily long walks on a lead in a safe area. The ears and facial folds need cleaning. They drool and are prone to bloat and ear infections.
