Where the Bichon Frise comes from

Bichon Frises come from the Mediterranean and became popular with royalty in France and Spain. They later worked as circus dogs and were rediscovered as pets in the 1900s.

Personality and daily life

Cheerful, playful and curious. Bichons are affectionate and sociable, and don't like being alone.

Bichons are happy powder-puffs that shed little. They need regular grooming and company.

Exercise, grooming and health

Short walks and play. The curly coat sheds little but needs daily brushing and professional grooming every 4 to 6 weeks. Allergies and dental issues are common.
